Is Your HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical Business Ready for Fall Marketing?
With late summer now upon us, fall is right around the corner. In the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other home services worlds, that means things will start heating up for your business.
Are you ready? Have you given thought and spent time planning for a successful season?
At BxB Media, we encourage you to start thinking about the strategies and processes you’ll need for the upcoming busy season. You want to hit this period running strong.
Here are some things we recommend you put on your checklist before it’s all hands on deck for your team.
Send Out Fall/Winter Maintenance Reminders
Write your seasonal maintenance reminders now for either an email campaign or newsletter. Start sending them out later this month so customers schedule their appointments early. You want to fill your calendar right away with current customers so they’re taken care of before the extreme cold weather hits.
New customers will call with cold-weather issues, taking your appointments, and you need to always have room for current customers. Maintaining their equipment and systems now will ensure you do.
Be sure to keep your maintenance plans at front of mind whenever you’re talking about maintenance appointments. This is an optimum time to get both current and new customers on a plan.
Promote HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical Maintenance and Service Programs
Notifying customers early on about your programs gives them time to take advantage of them. If you offer financing programs, getting that information out there provides customers the opportunity to purchase a new system if they’re on the fence.
The same goes for any programs you offer. Cross promote them everywhere—on your website, in email and paid ads, and through specials.
Update All Your Marketing Language for Fall/Winter
There’s nothing that says you’re not on top of your business to customers like leftover spring or summer messaging in the fall or winter. Impressions are everything. You want to continue to build your brand at every turn, and updated language helps boost that.
Be sure you sweep across the board with this. Along with being current, your language should be consistent everywhere. Focus on things like your website banner, paid ads, and specials, but remember this should also extend to promotional efforts like your emails, newsletter, and direct mail.
Review Your HVAC Co-op Dollar Spend Plan
Coming to the end of the season or year and realizing you didn’t spend all your co-op dollars is not only frustrating—it’s wasted resources. Check in now with your co-op balance and plan accordingly.
There’s still time before the end of the third quarter to invest any remaining funds in something that could make a difference in your business. If you’re currently working with BxB, talk to your BxB Marketing Coach for suggestions.
Work on Obtaining More Reviews for your HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical Business
Getting reviews is a nonstop strategy for growing your business. Reviews are one of the easiest ways to both advertise and help your website ranking.
Don’t let the busy season cause this to fall through the cracks. Train your team to ask for reviews after every appointment and during follow-up communications. Make it fun for them by offering rewards or running contests.
